GET
INVOLVED

This is a big event in every sense, and Liverpool City Council's Culture Liverpool team want to make sure as many people as possible get involved in the run up, during and after the show.

They are working in partnership with other council teams and external organisations to deliver an education and participation programme that aims to bring together the entire city in memory of the events which took place between 1914 and 1918.

If you are planning on organising an event to coincide with the commemorations, please download the form and email it back to us.

Atten-shun! Final call to parade proudly as part of giant event

IT’S your last chance to be part of this year’s biggest street theatre event.

The team behind Memories of August 1914 - the UK’s flagship World War One commemoration event – are on the look-out for a final batch of people to recreate the Liverpool Pals battalions. A century ago these battalions consisted of men and their family members, neighbours and work colleagues, signing up to defend Britain on the battlefields of Europe.

This is the first time in Royal de Luxe’s 21 year history of producing jaw-dropping giant events, that they have asked members of the public to play a central role in their production.

The team are looking for around 90 people to be a part of the show itself, and they will take centre stage on the Sunday of the event (27 July).

To encourage more people to take part, the minimum age has been lowered to 16 years and the number of rehearsal days has been reduced, making it a more manageable challenge. The team will also supply any necessary costumes.

 All applicants:

          Must be male

Must be aged 16 or over

Be physically fit as marching will be required

Must be available for rehearsals on the weekend of 12 and 13 July and Saturday 19 July, and for the show on Sunday 27 July
