This is a big event in every sense, and Liverpool City Council's Culture Liverpool team want to make sure as many people as possible get involved in the run up, during and after the show.

They are working in partnership with other council teams and external organisations to deliver an education and participation programme that aims to bring together the entire city in memory of the events which took place between 1914 and 1918.

If you are planning on organising an event to coincide with the commemorations, please download the form and email it back to us.

Tree House Liverpool create a Giant Welcome

Liverpool Treehouse regular held social events and organisied cultural and environmental activities with the local community. The group put together a programme of activity involving the residents of Newsham Park to ensure that visitors to the Giant Spectacular in July will see the park at its very best.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Wendy Simon said:

“The visit of the giants to Newsham Park has really propelled the local community into action.”

“They are delighted to be welcoming, not only these special visitors from France, but also visitors from across the city and beyond to their wonderful park.”

“It is fantastic that this community group has brought together residents and involved them in this summer’s biggest event, I hope they all enjoy taking part.”

Residents painted, garden and decorated trees, to make all visitors feel welcome.

The park will be the sleep-over location for the Giants on the Friday night of the event. The giants will then explore the streets around nearby Gardener’s Drive and Sheil Road.
